My client's primary function is promoting and developing strategic land to produce parcels of residential land for onward sale to the house building industry. They also own business parks and construct commercial buildings for lease. The landholding comprises a mix of agricultural and previously worked brownfield land. The company is currently expanding operations and is seeking additional Engineering support.
Reporting directly to the Senior Project Manager and assisting planners and surveyors, the role will be office based for most of the week, but there will be a requirement to visit construction sites and attend meetings with approving authorities and consultants. A driving license is, therefore, essential.
Candidates will have a Degree in Civil Engineering and approximately 5 years' experience post graduation, or equivalent, and, preferably, will be a Chartered Civil Engineer with the Institution of Civil Engineers. They will have experience in general infrastructure engineering, experience of dealing with earthworks, highways and drainage together with various forms of contract administration. Some knowledge of the planning system would be an advantage but is not essential.
It is not envisaged that the candidate will be required to carry out any design functions but will be required to audit and review proposed designs by our external design consultants. Knowledge of design standards and the approval process is essential as is the need to be able to use AutoCad as part of the review procedure. You will also be required to assist other members of the organization with Engineering inquiries
