We are now seeking to appoint a high calibre production/operations professional, to play a lead role on a site which is a part of a division which has a turnover of $1.8 billion.
In this key role, you will lead supervision and engineers to deliver daily, quality products on time, in full, at the right cost. You will be responsible in conjunction with the Head of Operations for developing a routemap for change/improvement aimed at short/medium and long term gain.
A practitioner in lean/agile thinking, you recognise the vital importance of leadership in an SHE/team based culture. You are a progressive thinker and the type that achieves results through people adopting a coaching style. At this time, plans and ideas are being developed to respond to the changing demands of the marketplace, through the implementation of CI/lean principles. With this, you are the type who understands that solutions need to be credible, to ensure the enrolment of people at all levels. You know how to push for improvement, through a diplomatic approach but will never lose sight of the end game and you will have experience of cross functional working. The ethos is to move towards lean thinking, yet you are the type that recognises tools are irrelevant without high quality intelligent leadership.
Ideally, candidates will possess a HND or equivalent and possibly a degree but this is not essential. Experience of fabrication would be advantageous and candidates may bring experience of off-road vehicles, construction/agricultural vehicle/manufacturing, however this is not essential. They key to this is the ability to create cohesive teams, a sense of purpose and buy-in to an approach which is aimed at small changes day to day, which impact on all key measures.
