West Sussex Highways has created an Alliance team comprising West Sussex County Council and its principle service providers and are using the NEC family of contracts to deliver its services for the people of West Sussex. West Sussex Highways has an annual turnover of over £40 million per annum.
You will play a vital role in advising the Alliance on the future procurement strategy and leading multi-organisational teams to challenge and demonstrate the efficiency and effectiveness of the Alliance arrangements, using performance management techniques. Working across the Alliance you’ll ensure the New Engineering Contract is used effectively to drive service improvement and efficiency. You will have a working knowledge of the New Engineering Contract and of multi-organisational team working. You will be able to demonstrate the benefits of the NEC forms of contract to staff who are more familiar with the traditional forms such as the ICE 5th Edition. Educated to BTEC HNC level or degree, Chartered Engineer, Incorporated Engineer or post graduate qualification within the specialist area (or equivalent qualification/experience) you will preferably have relevant membership of a professional body e.g. Chartered or Incorporated Engineer and have experience of applying specialist knowledge and providing advice.
