Business Development Manager

Business Development Manager within water/wastewater treatment industries

Our Client is a world leader in the development and application of static mixers and associated technology. They have more than 1,200 customers in every process industry with their clients based in more than 70 countries around the globe.

Our Client has offices strategically situated in the USA, Canada and Germany, as well as through our globally distributed network of agents. Sounds like an exciting company already don’t they!

The Role

You will be part of a small but expanding, successful and very busy team of engineers. Our client exports 60-80% of their specialist mixing system and heat/mass transfer equipment worldwide to every process industry as stated above. They are a dynamic and well established business respected worldwide as the leading provider of their technology.

We are actively seeking a Sales & Business Development Manager based at our Macclesfield head office to develop and market an extensive range of motionless mixers to the water and wastewater
treatment industries and all other process industries.

The ideal candidate should have the following profile:-

  • Background in water / wastewater treatment industries preferred but will consider any other process industry background.

  • excellent team worker

  • willing to travel within the UK and internationally

  • outstanding enthusiasm and leadership skills to motivate and communicate at all levels

  • graduate or equivalent, ideally with a professional qualification, with a technical process engineering background.



  • Candidates should be computer literate, hopefully have a good telephone manner and communication skills and enjoy working in a busy technical sales environment.


    Salary
    £35000 – £40000 (depending on exp.) Overall Package is negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.

    full time role working 35 hours per week

    Our client is looking to source a reliable time served welder, fabricator to work in their busy site. Applicants should be fully qualified to City & Guilds level (or equivalent), highly skilled at pipe welding and confident enough to work on your own initiative.

    Your Role:

    Our client wants to recruit a dedicated business development person to promote the growth of their technical services function. The technical services department has enjoyed a period of consistent growth and it is desired that this new resource will contribute strongly to a continued increase in the business of the UK technical services operation.

    The role has 2 key aspects, firstly the successful candidate will promote our clients technical services by direct selling, secondly the successful candidate will work with and mentor the existing sales force so that they can add service sales to their own account base

    Main Tasks Include:

  • Take responsibility for existing service contracts from a business development view point

  • Take responsibility for existing ‘Products’ from a business development view point

  • Work with Manager and team leaders to develop new product and services offerings then together take them to market

  • As representative of the customer, enhance existing products and develop them to meet the needs of the changing market

  • Control Systems sales force liaison and support

  • Instrumentation sales force liaison and support

  • Direct sales of ‘products’ and services to new customers





  • Required Skills:
  • Minimum HNC/ONC qualification in Control /Instrument / Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

  • Standard Microsoft office applications

  • Experience in UK based direct sales and committed to the promotion of technical services.

  • Familiar with the UK process industry and client base

  • Confident to sell directly at a senior management /director level

  • Professional and co-operative, with a pleasant ‘can do’ attitude.

  • Able to demonstrate a reasonable technical knowledge of Control Systems.

  • Confident presenter / public speaker

  • Willing and able to travel 50-70% of working week, mostly within UK but with occasional European visits.

  • Experience of working within an international organisation, with the ability to communicate and co-operate with colleagues and customers from different cultural backgrounds.

  • some experience in an industrial and technical direct sales environment.

  • Able to influence and win over colleagues who are not directly supervised

  • Team-working within a busy and fast moving ‘customer focussed’ environment.
