A chartered engineer with extensive building structures experience is required. You will be managing projects and staff and will work closely with clients . The position will report into the managing director and a senior board director. There is a clearly defined path to associate and onwards to director level and attractive financial incentives along the way. You will need to be a competent engineer first and foremost but will also need good managerial potential and a grasp of commercial issues. There will be a fair amount of liaison with clients so good communication and interpersonal skills are a prerequisite . You will be joining a progressive practice with a reputation for high quality work and an especially low staff turnover.
This busy consultancy employs thirty staff and provides building structures, development infrastructure and transportation expertise . They currently have projects in the Seychelles developing an extensive holiday villa complex in an environmentally sensitive area as well as residential and holiday developments in Barbados and Croatia . Their UK workload is healthy with two new science parks to be designed along with the associated site infrastructure, plus a number of retail and public developments. You should be able to read and understand architectural drawings and create structural general arrangement drawings whilst working closely with a structural engineer.
